Experiment 11: The Magnet Motor Chimes
This experiment uses one of the world’s simplest motors. All you need is a battery, a piece of copper wire, and a small neodymium magnet. Amazingly, with just those three things, you can build a motor that spins really fast. Its fast and easy, but it only has a minimal amount of power, so it’s tricky to get it to do more than spin by itself. But just like an angel chime, which harnesses the slight power of hot air rising from burning candles, you can build an electric chime driven by this magnet motor.

Get all the details on how to do this yourself in our book, How to Build a Hovercraft.
